9" Red Oscar found dead

When i arrived home from buffalo after attending the bills pats game i found my 9" red oscar dead. all other fish are fine and i have no clue how he died but im pretty bumbed out.

thanks i have pics but they are on my computer which wont turn on. the other fish i have in the tank is a rtc ( yes i know how big they get and i do have future plans) should i let him live by himself for a while or get another fish soon. i guess im asking will he get too territoral by himself?
