I have somebody trying to sell me an algae scrubber From a tank manufacturer And they are trying to tell me that the dimensions are 14x5x11
And have 9 one watt LEDs and a 300 GPH flow. They are trying to tell me that this is good for up to a 600 gallon tank. First off I know algae scrubbers are usually rated on the amount of food you feed per day not how many gallons of water but Besides that nine watts seems very under powered Is it? I was looking at the icecap in their smallest one starts at 20 W and it’s about the same size as this one. To be fair they’re only asking $250 so it’s not that much money As far as algae scrubbers go for some reason. Not much to the thing. What do you guys think. I’m not buying it just wondering if 9 W would even Help On my 480 gallon tank they are building for me or is this just an up sale?

9w is nothing , 400 gallon you will need a much bigger algae scrubber if you wanna see any real difference. if you tryin to save some buck you could diy as well.

Seen some selling 30w for a 250g. Maybe double that for ur tank or close to it.

no i thought the same thing. but when my tank MFG was admit about it working for up to 600 gallons i just needed some reassurance. i am making my own. i got a 20 gallon acrylic tank for $130 shipped to my house and some Led grow lights. i plan on doing two waterfalls because it is 13'' wide
