I was told once by two characters in the fish hobby , crank your temps temps up to 90 degrees , it will burn out all the bugs . I guess keeping it there til all is well? any one else do this?

90 is high in addition to leaving much less oxygen in the water...

doesn't make much sense to me . . . certainly not as just some random cure for "bugs" . . . I would think it would put a lot of stress on most fish, and for no clear return

if you want to try it, be sure to have good aeration; I definitely agree with the post above that it would have a negative impact on oxygen levels.

yeah but i think 90 is outragious go to like 88

LOL  I don't think there's that much of a difference.

Like the others said High 80s is good for speeding up the life cycle of parasites, so the meds can kill em off faster.

Good luck !!!!:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

I've found at least for ich in new shipments of fish high temps are good. I usually aim for 85-86, not 90, but a week at that and then dropping it down seems a good therapy. I've tried to leave a tank like that for a while and they started going downhill quick. Seemed like the ich went away in the first week, they looked good the second and quit eating and lost weight the third or beyond. Bringing them back to normal temps over a few days seemed to fix it and they were without ich and started eating again.
