90 gal com ca tank?

In my experience, it's best to avoid pairs in a community setting... while it is possible, it is a harder to find that balance and lighter stocking is the first place to start...

I think a single male of each species you are considering would be a bit of a risk... and a mated pair of each species would eb a total mess...

If you are really driven to have pairs in your tank, I would suggest one of the larer pairs (JD or Sal) and a pair of Convicts. Provide the Convicts with smaller caves they fit into that the larger fish do not. I've provided this in the past by overlapping multiple pieces of slate and rocks creating caves with connecting passages, then pouring sand on top of the whole structure.

I think you would be asking for trouble. You maybe could do 2 of the pairs. A longer, shorter tank would be better to get more of a footprint.

A longer, shorter tank? Don't you mean a wider tank? Anyways, I don't think that will work out...

not a good idea. a pair of cons might be ok if you have singles of the others listed, as they dont get to big. a pair of anything else, and they will kill the other fish. maybe if you got a longer tank, it could work out, maybe a 120, as im guessing you would be getting the standard 90gal 48x18x24

I would leave the jd's out because even in a large tank it can still spell trouble. I had a breeding pair in my 155 and the male killed several fish. I say yes to convicts.

What he means is, it would work better with a longer tank than a tall tank, like a standard 90g is only 4' where as a 6' 110g would work better.

That stocking would not work, BLOOD BATH. First problem is when one pair is spawning and the other pairs arent they are just big old punching bags. A salvini pair or a convict pair with claim atleast 2' of the tank.
