90 gal filter for 20 gal tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was wondering if this might be a little too much filtration.

Sent from my PC36100 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

No such thing as too much filtration/turnover rate!

Violent currents could stress ur fish to death, as long as their not blown all over the tank its fine!

I'm thinking of doing something similar. I want to build a big tank but I never tried something like this before so I'm going to start with the build a sump. I'm looking at about 100 gallon sump and to test it I'm going to put it on my 29 gallon tank.

I used 2 aquatecg 30-60 on my 20 gallon with a canister and they loved it. I did the same on mu 10 gallon

depends on the fish. as long as yours like high flow, you're fine. otherwise it's just an expensive way to kill your fish.
hatchets would not do well in such a setup, hillstream loaches would love it.

yep all depends on the stock. remember filters are always overrated. whats the gph? i run 3 ac50s on my 40g but i can tell you they wouldnt keep my 150g clean even though thats what they are technically rated for
