90 gallon Discus UPDATE PICS quartz rockwork

Hey everyone, it’s me again. Recently purchased some quartz rock to add to the aquarium, I have another quarts rock I’m really wanting to add but I purchased it at a furniture store. So it makes me weary to add it to the aquarium. Do you guys think it safe.. I’ve included pictures beloow...?

Anyways, here’s a few pictures of the aquarium, everybody’s doing great I’m just waiting on the discus to start pairing off lol. I’m so excited to eventually someday breed a pair. Let me know what you guys think! Thank you in advance.

Give it a good clean and put it in the tank. It's just a lump of silica. Your glass is made of silica. Looks like your sand is made of silica. Your silicone is made partially of silica.

Haha shut up the hell up I’m only nervous because I got it at a furniture store lol. But you’re just saying it’s the same thing so, ok.. I’ll add it when I get home. I just love my pets is all haha..

I am not sure i would add it unless it said what it is or made of. Since you got it at a furniture store it could have anyting in or on it.

See that’s my reason for worry. But at the same time it is quartz rock.

Even if it says that it could have been treated with some kind of chemicals or come from an area with different elements in it. If its harmless than you have an interesting rock in your aquarium and if not than your fish could die. Is it worth the risk? There is a lot of cool stuff made specifically for aquariums.

I bought a new piece of quartz at the LFS today. It’s so beautiful I don’t understand why everybody doesn’t do it. ‍
