Like the title says I'm setting up a new tank 1 step every week so far I have the empty tank with a decoration which my mother gave me as a present

Missing:

Hood / Background (week 2)
Stand (week 3)
Filter (Week 4)
Sand (Week 5)

I have a question about the hood

So the guy on petland told me there was no hoods for this fishtank because it was too big, he told me I have to put a piece of glass on top and then a lamp if I want to have some light,
BS right ? I have seen bigger tanks with hoods but he got me really confused so my question is:
will this hood fit my new tank?

Glass top or hood for a 75 gal. will fit. Your tank is the same dimensions, just taller. You need a top the same brand as your tank, not all manufacturers are the same.

From my experience with those lights is the two pieces on either front side need to be supported length wise or front to back. Now I could be wrong, but digging from my memory, these or ones like them had those to cover the front up and lift upwards to feed or act as some cover- but if they separate off you'd be fine. Any light long enough to support itself on the rim should work. Too bad you weren't in or close to LA- I'd give you the glass tops that came with my 80/90 (same dimensions)

UPDATE!
Hood and Background came yesterday in the mail but unfortunately the hood doesn't perfectly fit a 75/90 Tank
It's off for like about 2" I can live with it meanwhile, anyways I'm doing a 55 Brackish soon I can use the hood for that one there are some pictures:

find a piece of egg crate lighting plastic at home depot or other hardware store cut it to fit the extra area behind the 55 top ...DONE...
