I recently picked up a 90 gal that was used for an iguana. Problem is the heat lamp had warped the top rim and the previous owned had cut the center brace out. My friend said I need to replace the rim since it is structurally important on a 90. It is an old glass tank with thick glass, no sure of manufacturer. Was cheap. Any suggestions on replacing the top rim?

I had a similar issue with a 75 that I got for free. I went to Home Depot and bought a 2" x 2' piece of aluminum and pop riveted it with aluminum rivets. Tank is still running strong 10 years later with no issues. You can always buy the plastic top from a lfs and take the old one off and replace it with the new one. It was like 80.00 for the piece if I remember correctly. My way was a total of $14.00. Hope this helps
