ok im thinking of making my 90 gallon a saltwater tank

woud this setup be ok for
a lion fish
2-3eels
and a clown trigger

setup:
protein skimer to fit the size of tank
two emperor 400 hob filters
live rock

and all the other stuff
coral sand
refractometer
30w singl globe light
salt
powerheads

another queston how many
and how many litres an hour shuld the powerheads be

another question is what does a revrse ozmosis filer system do
if i got one what wouldn't i need
and how do they work

ditch 2 eels and maybe the trigger and you've got an ok start...

RO filters are fro filtering tap water. if you used it on your SW tank you'd
A) kill everything from the hyposalinity
and B) kill the filter with all the salt, calsium, mag, etc drawn out of it..

the PH's would get about 500L/H total along with your filters

your stocking needs some serious reconsidering

ok 1 eel
1 lionfish
something else maybe

setup now:
no ro filter
2 emperor 400 hob filters
2 1000 l/h powerheads
protein skimer to fit the size of tank
live rock
coral sand
refractometer
30w single globe light
salt

are you referring to a volitan lion or what kind, same ? for the eel as well. No, to the clown trigger. Your going to need a better filtration system for this tank as well as your fish selection are dirty fish who eat a lot and produce even more waste.

well if your thinking about the eels or clown trigger they both like a lot of rockwork the clown also needs plenty of open space for swimming which the rock will be taking away especially once they get larger in size same thing goes for the volitan..... I would suggest getting a smaller lionfish like a radiata lion which only reach 10-11" really and possibly a snowflake eel or something along those lines.

something else, if im not mistaken your skimmer needs to be rated for 1 1/2 t 2 times your tank size like I have a 120g tank and our skimmer is rated for a 250g i might be mistaken, it has happened before (numerous times) no really some one else could chime in about it
