Just finish building the frame on my 90 gallon tank... I noticed that its not level correctly because the 2x4 is a little warp at the base. But if you place pressure on top on it, its pretty level. Do you think this is ok or should I tear it down and find 2x4 that is not warp as badly. Also how thick of a plywood would you guys suggest for the inside base of the stand. Thanks.

fix the warp but came to another issue. The corner of the tank is flush but there is gap between the middle side of the tank. Is this ok????

Not sure if the gap is okay for a 90 gallon. I know that on a ten gallon it doesn't matter though but this tank weighs much more.

You could put a piece of plywood and/or some 1/2" insulation board.

Well fix the warp by adding pieces of plywood to level it out. Here is the progress.....

I use 1/4 inch Birch as skin... Will be heading out to get some crown moulding this weekend.... Still not sure how to do the doors.... Guess on the moulding looks will determine how I go about gettng the doors made.

If doing another one in the future, maybe use fine finishing nails for the skin rather than screws?

Will be easier to putty and stain the smaller holes of finishing nails. Won't be a stuctural part of the stand so nails should be fine.

(edit, I say this after having done something similar in the past having used screws.)

I managed to hide most of the screws for the front skin by having the doors over lap them. However there are a few that appear on the side panels that I could have easily hidden with nails. Screw color matches my stain so they are hard to see.
