I’ll also probably get a few upside-down syno. cats. If it’s possible, I would like to get a couple Julii cichlids and a couple Brichardi cichlids too. This might be completely overstocked for a ninety gallon, but it’s a start. It will have coral-based gravel (something like that??? The bag says African Cichlid mix) and rock (I’m not sure what type yet). It was a present from Santa ;) I thought it would look nice to have a few large venustus cichlids out front and then have the smaller cichlids darting in and out of the rocks.
So what do you guys think?

Id keep the mbuna out of the mix for the most part, but like the rest, just keep an eye on the venustus

I think you are going to run into trouble mixing Mbunas with Peacocks and Haps. The Johanni have been particularly nasty in the tanks I have kept them in. Demansoni need to be kept in groups of 10+ to disperse agression but tend to leave other species alone. Peacocks and haps prefer open water and few rocks and Mbunas like caves and hiding spots so I would suggest you figure out which kind of fish you want to keep and narrow it down to just those species. good luck.

Ok whats the difference between Mbuna and Peacocks/Haploids

K thanks
