What are you into?

I'm looking at a pile of ropefish for one right now. Ive had istlanum in one, a couple of green spotted puffers, a big black ghost knife, and some other misc stuff over the yrs.

Most cichlids that stay 12" and under would be fine in a 90 gallon. Istlanum, as mentioned, would be a good choice. Motaguense, grammodes, loisellei, would be some other good options.

For non-cichlids, I would say upper jaw bichirs would be cool. Also, gar-characins like the needlenose or hujeta gars, would work.

Red wolf fish would be a good option.
black mask elongate pirahna would be cool if they are legal where you are.
Look into smaller pike cichlids, could do a nice pair.
Some smaller puffers would work too, hairys are cool, not sure if they cohab?
Gulper catfish.

They are the coolest options I can think of ATM:-)

South american leaf fish is another cool option.

Istlanum is a fantastic choice if you want a cichlid, more mini dovii than grammodes imo.
