Hi all,

So I went to the home improvement store to check out some cinder blocks for the diy stand, I was not happy. I don't think the dimensions are precise enough for a level surface. So I am just going to plunk down for a store bought stand (I guess I have to cut back on my daily faberge egg omlete:)).

I saw some 75/90gal stands on the net for around $180, I even saw one for $125. Are they good price, but more importently will they be sturdy enough. I don't care about how they look I just want them to be strong enough to hold over 1000 pounds.

I appreciate all suggesions.

The LFS here has the basic unpainted wood stands for the most popular sizes. Run $60-$130 depending on open/cabinet style and size.
I would get on the phone and call around to see what is available.
Another option is goodwill/thrift stores, not as dependable but my friend got a 6' dresser/stand for $20. Thing is solid and heavy as bricks.
