This is a new 90 gallon I set up recently, replacing a 75 for display purposes, I have other possible uses for that 75. In this 90 is a Paratilapia polleni that was the aquariums's first inhabitant about a month ago. I also put in 6 Caquetaia spectabilis I bought from Jeff Rapps last week. So far the fish get along fine (for cichlids), there is only very brief and minor chasing. They actually chased each other more in this video than they normally do. I think that's because they saw me standing by the aquarium and they all came to the front glass expecting food. Right now they're in the 3.5 to 4 inch range, with the polleni being a little bit larger, but not a whole lot.

These fish all get fairly large, so I can't keep them together in this 90 forever, but it should be a fun tank to watch through the winter and maybe into the spring. Maybe by then I'll get a pair, then I'll have to find new homes for the rest of them.

This is my very first video posted, I used my camera, a Kodak EasyShare C330, I don't have a dedicated digital camcorder. It is a bit dark, it's hard to see the spots on the polleni. But you can check out my newest aquarium and fish to get a feel for what's going on in there.

I posted this earler in the "Caquetaia" area, thought I'd add it here as well. Nothing spectacular, but I saw zebra danios on sale Sunday, so.........

zurgsmom, I have no idea where you can buy pollenis where you live. But if you want to order some online, tangleupincichlids.com has some, listed under Paratilapia sp "small spot" and "large spot". The biggest he has are 5-6 inches, those are 50 dollars. His service is expensive but very reliable and high quality. You could order some Monday morning and have them in your aquarium Tuesday morning.

I hit the LFS again today, and zebra danios were still on sale for one more day, so I got another dozen. Sorry about the brutal sunlight reflection, I don't have shades or curtains for those windows. You can notice how lightning fast the little xingu is compared to the spectabiles. Also, the polleni went into hiding when I released the danios. For some reason, he wants no part of the chaos that ensues, even though he rules the tank.
