I would like to move my juvie O into a 90 gallon tank and add a suncat to keep him company. Would a 90 be large enough for this? I have gotten some contradicting advice regarding the subject. One person told me that my Oscar must be huge to need a 90 gallon. Other have commented that a 90 is not larger enough.

Thoughts? Comments?

Whoever said it was huge for an O has no clue what they are talking about. Oscar needs a 75gal minimum at full size. The 90gal sounds perfect IMO. Plenty of room and water space. Watch the combo though. It should work but if we are talking about the same catfish then it will stay smaller. Just keep an eye out. I say go for the 90.

That's what I thought regarding The sun cat but after a while someone on planet catfish gave me this photo and said that I was wrong about sun cats being too tiny.

A 90 gallon is not huge for an oscar, they get to 14". If a fish can fit in the mouth of an oscar it will get eaten.

I thought that the 90 gallon would be suitable as far as size goes.

No offense but the other information you supplied really isn't information that is new to me or helpful to my question. In fact, those two facts were probably some of the first things I read before I bought the Oscar five months ago.

Thanks for the input though. I guess it is good for anyone else who might not have that information and is searching through the forum.

honestly i think that would be a great combo for that tank size, if i had extra stocking room for a semi-large fish suncat would be my first choice, i think they look really cool
