Hey guys, i am new here. Very pleased to meet you. I am a part of the hobby for about 2 years. I have a 30g community tank and a couple smaller tanks. So recently i decided to go with something slightly bigger. I got an 90G tank from a friend and I am looking forward to stock it with some cichlids. I am thinking mostly of a semi aggressive or peaceful tank. The cichlids I am interested in are Severum, Oscars, Angels, Festivum, Blue acara, Firemouth and Geo's mostly. I would also like some catfish. Which combination of those fish mostly (I am open to other ideas though) will work in my tank? Thanks very much.

take the oscar and angels out of that and the others will be good in the tank just dont overstock it

This would work The angelfish would get bully or killed by the firemouth or oscar...
1 severum
1 oscar
1 blue acara
3 geos
1 Festivum

Depends on the type of geo and severum. I think you could find a more exciting stock, but it depends what you want. If you like the more peaceful fish, why not go for some discus, severum, and angelfish possibly planted. If you like more aggressive, go with the oscar, a JD, and a firemouth.

You have some options with a 90. I have a 90 but pretty much stocked with a solo wet pet midas, a poor abused convict, and some giant danio that manage to not get eaten. Out of the stock you mentioned this is what came to my mind.

2 Sevs
2 Festivum
1 Acara
2 Stripped or Spotted Raphael Catfish. (A very armored south american cat. Get's about 8")

I like having some size distinction in the tank. Having a few slightly smaller fish and a couple bigger fish. Maybe having that one bigger fish kind of being your centerpiece for the tank. If you like the blue acara maybe check out the Green terror. Switching out the Acara for a Green Terror with the same stocklist I mentioned would look really cool too. If you wanted to go the route of the Angels, you could probably put the Geos and festivum in with them and have a cool and probably functional community. If oscars, maybe 2 at most, and that's it. Just my thoughts and 2 cents. Make sure you do your research. Good luck with the decision.

you could get a pair of oscars
You must like oscars.

Anyways, heres what came to mind when I saw this.

Oscar x1
Severum x2 or Firemouthx2
1 green terror or BAx2
And then a couple of Geophagus
And Raphael cats are tough if you wanted catfish, also my 2cents....

Ok this would be my sugesstion:
2 Severums
2 Festivum
4 Angels
2 Geo's
Raphaels
That would be a peaceful comunity option. for a more agressive comunity u could do:
1 Oscar
2 Green Terror
2 firemouth
2 Acara
raphaels
This is also the division of the species you chose by agressive and peaceful, I wouldn't mix any of the first group with any of the second group if you wanna be safe.

Thanks very much for all your help guys, I really appreciate it. Till now I find myself leaning towards alexanian's aggressive setup recommendation. I am also opened to a ''wet pet'', like a midas or a flowerhorn. Can any of those two stay in the 90G and can I have any bottom feeders with them?

i like Oscars you could only fit 1 pair and maybe a medium sized catfish Oscars are big they are thick bodied fish you will need to over filter it tho and realer cleaning are necessary good luck
