911 Jaguar cichlid help!!

My female is laying eggs and it appears the the male is beating her up and eating the eggs! Is this normal or is he eating the eggs and needs to be removed?

This happened to me one time and I think its the males way of saying that I dont want to breed..... I had a female and she layed eggs about three times and the male didnt seem to interested....then the fourth time she layed eggs he began attacking her and as he was able to chase her away he would turn and attack and eat the eggs.....

Should I remove him? What should I do?

Put a divider in your tank to keep them seperated..

If he's going to kill her, then separating them would be advisable
