These are pretty cool 1/4 cylinder tanks that give a nice amount of surface area. I have wanted to set one up for awile and am finally getting to it. The manufactured stand choices are pretty limited so I decided to build one nice and tall and custom for my corner.

Experimenting with height. Started at 45" and dropped down an inch a a time. Decided on 40".

Backwards building, started with the 3/4" skin first to make sure it would be a snug fit.

I played a lot to get as much useable sump space inside as possible, ended up with 2x10g, 1x20g, and 1x37g.

Painted the inside of the stand black and tank sides black. The visible areas of the stand will all be a dark brown kona colored stain.

Still have a long way to go finishing the wood, plumbing, and making the top, but I wanted to share what I have so far. Hope you enjoy!!!

NICE! You sure do good work, I'll give you that. Very ingenious method for dealing with a difficult stand build. I like the reverse building, starting with plywood.

2 thumbs up!

Great job building the stand for your 96g corner tank. Looks real good! Any more updates? :headbang2

I got a a 96 gal. Corner tank (tank only) just sitting in the garage, myself. I was planning on just selling, but now after seeing this... I just may have to keep it?!! :D :D ;)

Once again, good job putting your wood workmanship skills to use!

Thanks. Its not the monster challenge of a pond, but still pretty cool on a small scale.

We went out camping for a few days so no updates. If you have a corner for it they are a cool tank. After owning many standard tanks I am really a fan of the corner now. I see you have a true monster in the garage :D

The corner makes a nice deep display in a small footprint. It gives a nice 34" depth and 48" across front. Similar to a 150 deep dimension, but with a curved front.

Hard to tell but here is one with it full of water and Kate showing off before we left the other day.

Finally have it plumbed and running. I tried a couple new things that I am really happy with. The rear corner megaflow was too tight for a durso so I went with a herbie overflow which was new to me. Its using one drain as full suction controlled by a valve, completly silent without bubbles or noise. Instead of using the other hole as a return it is a backup overflow incase something goes wrong. I used 1.25" and 1" conduit bulkheads/plumbing in the standard 1" and .75" fittings. Currently I am using an 1800gph return wide open and its dead silent.:headbang2
