Sorry no pics of the build but I thought I would post somepics of the almost finished product since I got a lot of the inspiration fromhere. It’s 2 layers of ¾” MDO concrete form plywood sealed with pond armor. I useddap silicone to install the glass and to put a bead in all the corners. So farso good no leaks. It’s been up and running for a little over a month now. There’sroughly 450 lbs. of lilac slate and a little over 100 lbs. of pool filter sandmixed with petco black sand. Hope you like it.

Looking good! That looks awesome! I love the rock stacked up! It reminds me of those desert movies where there are tons of cliffs and caves all over! Awesome tank! What are you using as a filter? Heater? Lighting?

The filter is a sump: 110 gallon rubber livestock tank from Tractor Supply with 2 3-drawer rubbermaid storage towers and a 3600 gph return pump. I haven't had to vacuum the gravel yet. To cut down on to much current without restricting flow I ran a 1.5" spray bar down the 8' side and the 3' side opposite the overflows. I used 2 ehiem 300w heaters but I think 1 would have been enough, the sump and tank both have a peice of 1" strofoam for covers. The temp is a very steady 78 and I never see the heaters on. The lighting I went to menards and bought 2 cheap work lights for $12 and a couple of 3000k led flood light bulbs for $20 each. The lighting isn't nearly as bright as it is the pictures and it shimmers really nicely. I just need to ad some blue led's.
