Hi all,

Acquired a 95g (60x18 footprint), and since I have two smaller community tanks, looking for suggestions for a larger solo occupant for this one. Leaning towards oddball, but open to cichlid suggestions, so I'm posting in the general area.

Thanks!

How about a breeding pair of cichlids? JD, GT, grammodes, salvini.if you get 5-6 juvies then some tough target fish:SD, bigger barbs, etc.

I had thought about a pair, but was hoping to get some suggestions about a single fish that would show well in a 95g and not outgrow the tank.

The fahaka puffer sounds interesting, but would it be able to stay in a 95?

Midevil!! A fish with a serious personality and attitude. Amphs make great wet pets
Here is mine, so far the only fish I have kept that beats the personality of an amph is an RTC here is my midevil

Or a flowerhorn. They are unique looking with their big ol' heads and make great solo fish

Or maybe something like a jelly or gulper catfish if your tank has the dems. for it.

How about a big male green sunfish. Some people say males only get to 10" or so but I've seen Brian Zimmerman's display tank and his male green is about 14". They're very personable aggressive fish (often called "native oscars") and could easily take a whole 95 for them self.

I'm always pro Gulper catfish, although I've read you can keep more than 1 in a 90 gallon.

I love Oscars. Or maybe a single male jag? Flowerhorn would be good too. Depends on what you're looking for.
