If possible encourage your larger bottom dwellers to poop near your filter intakes. :headbang2 I wish this occurred to me sooner! Such a simple idea.

A couple weeks ago I moved some rocks and drift wood around in my 450 to make room for my growing monsters. I shifted some lights also to make a darker area in one corner. That corner is now occupied by my Niger Cat and Aussy Lung. They love the dark corner behind a large rock and they spend 90% of the day back there. This area also happens to be the intake location for my two canister filters :headbang2

Why didn't I think about this sooner??? :screwy:

Those two monsters are easily 50% of my fish volume, and they are growing so fast and eating so much they generate easily 75% of ......... well you know:D

I hope this information helps someone.

Cheers all and happy fish keeping!

This sounds like the next best thing to teaching them to use the toilet.

...I taught a goldfish to use the toilet once. I heard it flush as I walked away and haven't seen it since. :grinno:

I did a similar thing with my HOB AC filter. My pleco always hung out in this rock cave, so I put a extension on my filter tip and it's now at the back of the rock cave. I'd like to think it gets about 50% of the crapola fresh.

I want to get onboard with this. I do, really.
Maybe I should of had kids. I don't know.
Egon, I'm with you bro. No Really.:naughty:

Just havin' a little fun with ya'.

I'm just wondering if by moving the decor around in your tank you didn't improve the flow pattern also.
