If possible encourage your larger bottom dwellers to poop near your filter intakes.
I wish this occurred to me sooner! Such a simple idea.
A couple weeks ago I moved some rocks and drift wood around in my 450 to make room for my growing monsters. I shifted some lights also to make a darker area in one corner. That corner is now occupied by my Niger Cat and Aussy Lung. They love the dark corner behind a large rock and they spend 90% of the day back there. This area also happens to be the intake location for my two canister filters
Why didn't I think about this sooner???
Those two monsters are easily 50% of my fish volume, and they are growing so fast and eating so much they generate easily 75% of ......... well you know
I hope this information helps someone.
Cheers all and happy fish keeping!
