I didn't take a photo but i found a blob of jelly like substance which was pretty solid (as in not slime), whitish in colour with tiny brown specs in it. It was on the bottom in the middle of the tank and about 3cm x 3cm and flatish.
The tank is clean because i did a water change on Sunday.

My arow has been a bit strange recently, staying on the bottom too long and not eating as normal.
I even went to a local dealer to talk at length about it's behavior because i was beginning to worry it may have internal problems like parasites. He seemed a bit bemused but assured me the fish didn't have parasites but recommended i add another food type to it's diet, I haven't do this yet, but this morning my fish was exited and swimming a lot more. I can only presume the blob has been vomited up by the fish or something.
I don't think it's from the tank because any gunk of a similar texture is always dark green or black and never as solid as this stuff i found.
Has anyone ever seen this in Aros or any fish for that matter?

Having given this some thought, while my Aro has been acting strange its lower jaw has been looking a little puffed out. I didn't look this morning but when i get home i will look to see if the puffiness has gone.
The blob is also still in the tank but out of the water, if it hasn't dried up to nothing I'll take a picture.

I've had my silvers regurgitate half digested shrimp before so you could be right on track with what you think it is.

Thank you, that's reassuring. I didn't see it happen but I'm pretty sure it came from the fish some how.

My X-back used to sit at the bottom. It was suggested to add power head to force him to swim... for other reasons, i moved him to another aquarium with stronger current - he no longer sits at the bottom.

Note the bottom part is populated by paimas so that could be the reason he does not go down, though he does spend a lot of time watching them ... good test case whether DE will come because of that.

Hmmm, never noticed no blobs in my aquariums... the hunger strikes are also a bit worrying. How long already?? When you look at your aro, do the eyes seem alert i.e. following you around? when my was at the bottom, it just sat there, but it was alert with clear eyes

It isn't on hunger strike, it just eats a lot less than it used to. I was told by a dealer it was eating an OK amount but could eat more. At the moment it's on crickets, it eats 2 as soon as they go in the tank, then it leaves 3 or 4 floating. Next morning they're all gone so it's eating 5 to 6 a feed. I've also been feeding every other day.
I was also told by another dealer that super worms are dirty and full of parasites, but the dealer that is a more reputable told me this was not true. He said only feeder fish are dirty.
The fish has not lost any colour on its body or its eyes, I've been looking out for this.
Its also not doing stringy poop.
Because it sits in the same place it has been pooping in the same place, after a few days bacteria forms over the poop area and it looks like whitish slime, this is what made me think it could have had parasites. (Not like the lump of jelly that appeared this morning.)
I'm going to try to give it big glass shrimps and i'm going to use Ocean Free Arowana vitamins which i will inject into the shrimps before i feed it.
If it doens't go for them I'm going to try some other dry foods instead of hikari sticks.
I must admit it's starting to look wrong, it's head seems smaller than it should be and it's eyes look too big in its head. This could just be me tripping out because of the hassle i've been having with its appetite dropping off.
I don't know if any one can remember but there was a thread about a super red which died. The owner suspected it died due to the chip being inserted in its belly and causing problems with its digestion of food. He said he started to notice a dark mark on its belly near the head. my fish has developed such a mark, this is also worrying me.
I'll take some pictures tonight and seek other opinions.

Here are some pictures.
The blob, Also look at the bottom jaw, the flesh is sticking out more than it was before (I don't mean the LPG).
If you look from the side just near the pec fins you can see a dark mark.
Does it look skinny with a small head or it that just me?
The picture of it on the bottom is where it sits most of the time.
