a bump on my dat.... any ideas

my dat developed a bump about an inch above its eye.
it is under the skin, the base is the size of a pencil eraser sort of pimple shaped.............

anyone have any ideas ???

the skin is not broken.................

John mine had that too....I put it in a QT put alot of salt and set the temp at 87-88; that's all I did and it when away......took about a month though

yea those things get U-G-L-Y if you don't treat em right. kinda like that pimple that always seemed to pop up just before class pictures, or before your first hot date. good luck treating it though John, youve got some beautiful Dats. try some of those over the counter fishy antibiotics (tetracyclines, etc) i've seen them for sale at most LFS. and a whooooooooole bunch of aquarium salt...

yup it sure did; some nasty stuff came out look all cheesy. but it went away; I suggest you do it while it's early; guess you gonna have to go swimming huh...Is that how you take fishes out??? Hope everything turns out fine though...

If it's the same bump like the one on my dat; that tetracycline stuff didn't work...I used that stuff and it didn't help; I stop the antibiotic treatment and just add more salt. That's all I did.

it wasn't this big before, but I waited and waited hoping that it would go away but instead it got bigger. the picture attached was the biggest the bump got and I decided to fish it out and pop that bump myself.
