ok so I stocked up my newish tank in my room finally with some fish
2 bolivian rams
2 Blue rams
1 yellow ram
3 black widow tetra
2 albino bristlenose pelco
2 bronze corydoras

Now my light broke 5 days ago. and preety much just using natural and room lighting for my fish. went to the local hardwear store later this afternoon brought the replacement bulb/globe for it. only to realise then that my lighting system has shorted out... probbly not worth the hassle of me repairing it.
ill just buy a new one.

now is it bad if I leave them a week with no proper lighting or do i need to get it asap?

from what i've been told the lighting is really for the owner's enjoyment, it really doesn't affect the fish. just make sure the plecos are well fed cuz there wont be much algae growth with low lighting

As long as there is some light during the day it should be alright.

It'd be the same as if it was cloudy or raining, (with out the rain)

Perfectly fine. The fish could care less, it's for our enjoyment like someone else has said. I only turn mine on at night when I want to see them or feeding otherwise their off. Room light is sufficient.
