010.JPG020.JPG025.JPG015.JPGok, so i was a bit off on their size in my introductions post. they are both about 11.5 inches long..and yes thats an ammonite cephalopod fossil next to my red its from the jurrassic period. my wife found it on a beach in Corpus Christi, and the college here in wichita confirmed that it really is an ammonite and in pretty damn good condition..

Love that ammonite, I have seen them the size of people in museums.I used to find them as kids and collect them, only tiny ones though. Your set up looks good and your oscars have TONNES of room. It's nice to see someone keep a red and a tiger, normally people opt for the albino and tiger.

are you planning on breeding them?

very nice.
even nicer to see someone keeping them in an adequate size tank.:clap bravo.
I like the fade on the first one. is that one the boss? the second one looks a bit hungry.
they don't mess with the plants? mine would move them around the tank and get mad at me for re-burying them.

ya know i've had them about 5 years and havent seen any signs that they are either females or males? so, no, no breeding plans, i'm not set up for that either.

ha funny that you mention the plants!, they constantly tear them up! once i spent about 50.00 on live plants and they had them turned into a nice salad by morning the very next day. ive had the red the longest but they really dont fight or bully one another, so its hard to say who the tank boss is, but if i had to pick i would say the tiger is more aggressive. i believe my red to be blind in one eye. never saw any damage to the eye, but i can drop their food in on his left side and he totally doesnt know its in there till he spots it with his right eye..

Aww very cute and nice looking tank. that ammonite Is awesome I have a little 4 in one under my reef tank
