I really like the way they are growing up. They haven't grown much in length lately, mostly girth. I can definitely see ocellations around the three spots(see last pic), which makes me think orinocensis, but the head shape seems wrong(more mono or ocell). Who knows, I love them. Here are the pics.

The last pic was from this morning when turning on the lights, not all the 6700K bulbs were on yet and they had just woke up, so the color is different. I took it because you could see the ocellated spots easily.

They are occels-notice the red eyes and tails? Also, the last picture shows their aggressive colors really well.

great pack of cichla!

I'm lost, lol. Whatever, they look nice. They look mono to me, but the red eyes say ocel and the lack of gold around the ocelli say not orino...am I as confused as you?

Insane eye's on your beast. Sweet pack.

Thanks everyone.

Well, they do have ocellated body spots, it's just hard to catch on camera. And I thought eye color was not really a determining factor in Cichla, as most species can and do have red eyes? I really don't care what species or blend of species they are, it's just fun to speculate.

They have a huge amount of red, but that's because they have been grown up on a 90+% krill diet. One in particular is very red, much more so then the others. Not sure why, but it works for me.

Ugh, and now we have some temensis at work. My original plan was to raise up a pair of the bass I have and keep them in my 125 as long as I can, but these temmies are awesome. I may have to upgrade.
