I have a silver Aro in a 84.5" x 24.5" x 29" tank. At how many inches will he not be able to turn around anymore?

Also is there another kind of (USA legal) Aro that grows a more suitable size for my tank? Thanks.

Liz has a 30" aro in a standard 180. Yours should be happy in that thing at least until it is 30". Sweet tank size, btw. Jardini will be fine in that for life IMO, but they aren't to fond of tankmates :(

Do you know how long it took Liz's Aro to reach 30"? Is there any MFK members with a tank raised Silver bigger than 30" or ever had one grow bigger than that in an aquarium?

Can tough-azz Central American cichlids hold their own with a Jardini?

I think it took hers almost 2 years. Johnptc has some over 3 ft if i'm not mistaken, and delgado had a huge one that died. I really can't say about the jardini and tankmates, as I've never had one. I hear that leichardti are less aggressive

My jardini is about a foot now and is just starting to show aggression towards his tankmates who are SA cichlids. Probably since he is now the largest in the tank. Your dimensions sound fine for any type of aro you choose. Just remember, if it can fit in his mouth, it will probably end up there.
