Hey guys,
I was looking through the buy and sell section and I saw somebody selling crawfish, they said that they were a great source of protein for rays. Is this true will stingrays really eat crawfish? I don't have any rays right now but I am setting up a 150 gallon grow out tank for them and was wondering if I can put 10-20 crawfish in the tank to cycle it for a few weeks and then feed them to the rays? How big do the rays have to be to eat them, I am going to get 2 8 inch motoros. Will the crawfish pinch the rays? Will they breed in the couple weeks that they are in the tank cycling it? The crawfish are between 1.25 and 2 inches. Thanks

I dunno... It seems that unless the crayfish's claws were cut, they would pinch the rays. Their claws are pretty strong, and they could do some damage. I'm also not sure how a ray would be able to eat it. I've seen my 11" Oscar eat some crayfish, and even he doesn't have the easiest time of it. I'd hold off, I think.

Ok thanks for the reply. I guess it's not that good of an idea and I don't want to risk my rays and having one get pinched.
