My 10" male Adinoacara rivulatus is in a 180G aquarium and has never been with a female of his species. A few months back I put on a video showing him guarding and protecting a bunch of Caquetaia kraussi fry that had wandered away from a pair that had spawned in the tank. So his parental instincts were alive and well. For the last month or so, other than harassing a pair of Parrot cichlids that were trying to spawn, he has been courting a young female Geophagus abalios. She is the closest looking fish to the Green Terror in this tank and he's picked her out as a potential mate. Poor deluded creature. She will have nothing to do with him, but this doesn't deter him from trying. Oh, such is love. Well, at least they're both from the same continent. I think I owe it to him to find him a proper mate.

Still a better love story then Twighlight.

Sorry I had to lol. He is a good looking boy, you should get him a girl friend :D

Sounds like endless entertainment with the gt, are the kraussi also in this 180?

I also keep a lone male GT in a 75g. Without a mate, he often sees me as his mate and courts me by shaking his head.

Other times he sees me as his rival and attack me. GT are amazingly interactive fish yet not aggressive.

I have mates for him though, but I purposely keep them apart so they don't breed in a community tank and take over. I am raising a lot of his offsprings so continuation of his bloodline is secured.
