After many years of wanting, waiting and residing to the fact that I may never be the owner of my very own Fly River today the dream came true and he is a beautiful specimen.

I was in an LFS where you quite often see FRT's but they never seem to be for sale (anymore, always shop pets) anyway the assistant said "that ones for sale you know?" Is it, it will be to much for my pocket. Its a customers and he's going travelling to Thailand this evening he doesnt want much as he needs the cash..............how much? £250:WHOA: within an hour I was packing it in to a poly box ready for the trip home.

Not only was it a bargain it is also a perfect specimen - approximately 12" nose to tail, 9" shell beautiful colour and condition, no scars, no shell rot and clear shell growth can be seen.

Its the biggest, the best & cheapest one i've ever seen:D man what a great day:naughty:

Any advice would be cool as I'm little in-experienced on this subject. Unfortunately I wont be able to keep it long term as i cant offer it a bigger tank long term:cry:

It is currently swimming very freely around in my 100g corner unit, my NTT and Clown Loach shoal are a bit put out by there new tank mate, but he has settled in fine and eaten 2 mussels, and a grape.

Thanks guys, I've onlyhad him for 4hrs and he's Great!!! I'm already daydreaming about a 6x2x2 (a freind is off loading one in May) and also looking forward to setting up a nice out door day pool for it in the summer - SilverDub is grinning like a school boy

Congrats! Be sure to keep up on water quality, they are messy little buggers...

congrats man, that's a bargain over here! Remember to give me a pm when he/she gets to big! ;)

I dont do pics really, I can text someone in UK a picture if they PM me.

The set up is a 350ltr corner unit (Juwel Trigon 350) its seems fine in hear but its already evident that he really needs a bigger tank. He's bigger than I thought he was. The tank has plenty of filtration and oxygen and the tempreture is at 30degs pH 7, i'm raising this slowly with TMC Rift Valley Salts.

Davo, if your serious about the FRT and you have a 6' tank for it PM me an offer.

He's feeding well on anything I've offered so far, he loves kiwi, blueberries, baby spinach, mussels, lance fish and algae wafers. He's absolutely fine with the fish but because he is bigger than them they are quite spooked by his swimming around, he is very active as I think he has come from a smaller tank.

Since having it and posting on a couple of forums i've had several people express an interest in him.
