how do i know my new fish are eating? i have a 100 gallon oceanic tank with a 6in albino oscar in it that eats like a pig, so i decided to add some more fish, so i bought some smaller chiclids to grow in the tank. so i bought a bunch of drift wood so they have hiding places from the oscar. i feed the oscar chiclid sticks that float on top of the water and it come up to get them, but none of the other fish do. the other fish are a jack dempsy a jewel chiclid and i think a fire mouth all about 2 in long all they do is hide. how can i feed them or what kind of food should i buy i want them to grow with out adding a ton of food that is not going to mess my water up? thanks, im still a noob and trying to learn from every body on here how to care for my fish and tank the proper way thats why i ask questions like these.

You could try some sinking pellets. Let your Oscar get his mouth full, then drop in a few sinking pellets and keep an eye out for the others to see if they are eating. What are the sizes of all you fish and how long have you had them? I think the JD will eventually rule the tank. Good luck

frozen bllood worms and brine shrimp hold the frozen blocks infront of the filter outlet and the fish shouls eat em

try slow sinking cichlid food. eventually they will just go to the top instad of waitng for it to sink and then u can switch the to floating cichlid pellets. new life specturm would be my recommendation ;)
