2 more,

One month of growth difference between these two:

This one was also from the first spawning but about half the size of the larger one above

I gave them their own tank and it was no problem to mate them. I made the mistake of not leaving some of their eggs from their
2nd spawning with them, -throwing off their cycle and causing aggression. . So I got a tank full of fry but the adults are partitioned atm. It's been cool to do this too.. bc I got to see him switch back to his pre-spawn coloration. Once she is loaded up with eggs again it should be safe to let them get back together, I imagine.
The male looks pretty insane sometimes.., he wants to get over the divider so badly.

There is only one larger fry one in this tank of fry, so I tried to follow him around some more.
The amount of growth in a month is striking. To the naked eye they are still both miniscule. Nice to be able to freeze and magnify them like this

Wow that male is stunning! Is he of the Honduran strain with the gold morph? 3rd pic of the female, the facial pattern is different? my pair spawned again last week too, there were a few swimmers yesterday and today they're out in mass. There are easily 2-3 times the number of fry from their first spawn. Are your older fry leaving the new batch alone? I remember reading that most of the time the older fry will eat the young and grow bigger faster because of it.
