I bought 2 more NTTs. These 2 are a lot more scared than the bigger one was when i first introduced it to my tank. They are unstable at the moment and look black with yellow stripes.
I was hoping introducing more would stop my RTG focusing on the one fish. I'll have to wait and see.
For the last 24 hours they've hid. I haven't seen them feed yet.
The vendor told me they are deffo wild caught in Nakon Phanom on the border of Laos. He told me they're out of the mighty Mekong River.
After the discussions on here about fish becoming rare, and the information I’ve been given about the STs being now fully extinct in the wild, i must admit I questioned my reasons for buying them. 150BHT each which is about $4.
Even though I really like keeping fish I think it's kind of sad. Its supply and demand, they’re in a tank in a Bangkok market with loads of others and they're going in a tank no matter what. I figured better my tank where I know they should have a long life, plenty of swimming room and a good supply of food, than in a tank that's not big enough.
Sorry the pictures are not the best but I didn’t have long to take them before they disappeared form view.

The informations about ST completely extinction in the wild, I knew more than a year ago, really sad. but now in the world trade of fish remains, and in Vietnam, 1,000usd per ST
NTT is still pretty much
Now, my friend have 5-6 sts. he just looked for them last year

I've been thinking of getting an NTT. I've only kept ITs so it would be something new.

They are more timid, but you will find they are a pleasure to own. Very cool guys.

NTT's are definitely shy fish. When they do become stable, its worth the wait.

Can you guys tell my NTT that he is suppost to be shy and timid?
