Thanks!
I just keep up with my water changes and feed high quality pellets and night crawlers.
Some things I notice that are different than regular jd. Fins if damaged take seem to take longer to heal, and their body shape is thinner than a jack dempsey the same size.
Colors change quite a bit as they grow. These fish keep me happy. They are pretty with decent size and mild behavior leaving me plenty of tankmates to choose from and nice plants that they leave alone.
It took me a while to find what I like, but freshwater I like polys hiding in the plants and ebjd as my show fish in the front. I also have a female severum that stops the big dempsey from picking on the small, but he is getting on the big side so I may have to trade it for a smaller severum for my real big jd to be pestered by, as he is slowly being out grown. I am a little worried if I get rid of the severum my big ebjd will pester other fish. I might try a red hook or something.. ideas still in very up in the air.
