I was waiting to show these guys after I picked up a new camera and after finishing remodeling the aquarium. But here they are anyway courtesy of Droid. I got a group of these guys in April at about 2" each. I'm down to a 6.5" male and a 5" female from that group. There is also a much smaller 3.5" female from a later pick up around October. There were strong signs of possible breeding several weeks ago. But something went wrong I guess. The male went ape and things fell apart shortly after. I am working on picking up a larger female from a friend in a few weeks.

Thank you! No where close to those pictured in your avatar though. They truly look much better than what my camera phone portrays.

Nice Al! Those look similar to the ones I bought from cacichlid.. I forgot where he said he got them from lol good luck on getting a pair:) it can be frustrating at times.

Thanks a lot, Jason. I got these from Florida Tropical in April. The new gal (different bloodline) is coming from someone else in my area. I'm not going to press the issue of breeding. If it happens, it happens. I do enjoy the breeding colors and behavior though. Even though the females can boast some striking colors, I have to say that the male is my favorite. I really like his colors and fin extensions. I'm still working on my other tank projects as well. Thanks for your help and advice too!

Looking really good.
Thanks!

Thank you!

Very nice! Looks like from one of the pics that they are pretty interested in each other :) Good luck with breeding!
I appreciate the kind words. They give mixed signals a lot lol. Some times it seems that the larger female is gearing to go but one little move sets off the male and he chases her away. So we'll see what happens. The funny thing is, up to a few months ago the female was beating on the male even though he has always been larger and bulkier than her. Then one day he had enough and things have been that way ever since. BTW I'll be seeking your advice once I am ready to try my hand at Geos.

Beautiful Festae :)
Thanks! It is time for a weekly water change. I'll try to get a video together after everything has settled.
