not the best of pics. the only decent ones i could take were with flash and it completely screws up their red color. ive read that the super red variety are wild p´s. the ones i have are brought from the wild but they dont seem very red at all. im starting to get them to eat pellets to get the colors really intense... i hope it works

nice tank, super reds usually loose the intense color after being in a tank for a few months. pellets and shrimp with shellls on are the best way to color them up.

When i feed my P's shelled shrimps somehow they find the way to eat the flesh leaving the shell floating by....:irked:

Use instead life caryfish, they're gonna love them and they always wholly eat them.

Feed them beefheart twice a month.

Nice tank setup you have, love the way it's planted.
like dudey said that wild reds will loose their bright red over time, even with the help of shrimp and pellets they'll not be as red as they age.

post more pics here if you can, hopefully we'll get enough pics and make it a sticky

I dont think this is the case, his piranha are still juveniles. look carefully the last pict yuo'll find the spotted patter caractheristic of the juveniles.

I would say this pis are hardly a year old.

So in he stick to a heavy diet he might accomplish some colorful reds...

I restated it: He should feed them beefheart and chiken breats 2 per month each.

Cheers.

i must admit when i just got them they were really red. they must be almost 8 months old now. thanks for the comments, i only hope the plants last and the p´s dont do anything to them

P's dont eat plants but as violent swimmers as they are if you see your plats loose floating around, dont get surprised.

P's like to re deco their setups.

Cheers.
