A few Q's about tank setups

I have been frequenting this board along with a few others over the past few days, looking at awesome full tank shots for big predators.

I was just wondering...
1. What kind of sand do most of you use?? Aquarium sand? Pool Filter sand?? Children's play sand from Home Depot???

2. Where do you all get those massive pieces of driftwood for big tanks?? I use African Root wood in my small tanks, but it is pricey, and that is for relatively small pieces!

good LFS should have driftwood. however, it is always good to ask if they have any more out back, cause mine does

I have stopped using sand and gone over to fine silicon gravel as with big fish they can stir up the sand and this can cause damage to filter etc. Whatever substrate you use wash it through until clean.

As Davo said LFS or Ebay....
