A few quesions about a new Chili red's Head.

Hey I haven' been around here for a while.

I bought a nice chili red FH that is about 4".

The KOK was pretty big at the store, but it got even larger after a few days in my tank. I did try the mirror thing.

But now after a week or so his head is almost gone. it is still somewhat visible but even less than it was at the store.

What happened and will it grow back?

He is in a 72-Gallon with 2 catfish.

Will it come back?? He had a water head for a few days and now it looks more like a hard head.

I will check water today but it should be fine.

will the head be a water head again?

thanks that really helped me out. You claim to have FH's? if so then you must know what a water head and a hard head is.
 
Have you done a water change recently? If so, how much? WHat kind of cats are in with him?
 
The cats just went in so they have nothing to do with it. They are Synodontis Decorus. 40% waterchange done the day before I got him about 8 days ago. I also did a 40% watechange 10 days ago.

If it is the water i can get it fixed, but I was wondering if something else happened?

im really sorry ....just one of those stupid moments when u type something without thinking....and dont worry i know what a water head/hard head means


i had the same problem when i brought home my new flowerhorns....most probably ur fish is just reacting to stress
give it some time to adjust maybe another week or so and see if it improves

try posting some pics too
 
i dont know what water head or hard head is. lol I have a red devil and cant get his head to grow much.
