I currently have first time experience with convicts (to be more specific,i have convict eggs which were laid before 4 days) i can barely see their eyes.nearly none of the eggs turned white either 1 or 2 which were picked off by their mum she sometimes fan them and most of time roam around in tank.the tank temperature is approximately 20 degree celcius. In how much more days should i expect them to hatch.i can just see a white shine over them when i put flashlight on them which i believe is not fungus but still i have put some anti fungal medicine in that tank.so,i think they are fertilised. Will babies stay alive at that temp. and at what age will they colour up.can i get a few pink ones from both parents being regular black ones as i think the male is a bit lighter in colour from the female which may be because of pink genes and in how much months will i be able to see if i have got a few pink convicts or not and in how much time will the female be ready to lay again. Thanks

I have never kept convicts. I'm sure someone on this forum will be able assist you.

In 78-82 degree water, eggs hatach within 3-4 days after being laid.....I like having a spare 20-60g tank ready for the fry.......Right when they hatch, I siphon the babnies into the seperate tank.......The tank is half filled with water........There is a sponge filter.....Temperature is set at 78 degrees.......No decorations, just bare glass floor......After 7-9 days, the wigglers have soaked up their egg sacks ad are free swimming........This is the time when I feed the fry baby brine shrimp........Feding the fry baby brine shrimp 3 times a day at least, will greatly boost their growth...Within 8-10 weeks after hatching, the fry are ready to be sold/traded.........

Personally, I wouldn't add meds. It's unnecessary. Leave the eggs to be, watch them but don't have to do anything else. Crank the temp up to about 24-26 degrees if you want, that's a good temp anyways and will speed up metabolism.

When the eggs hatch just feed whatever you normally feed the Convicts, the mother will crush 'em up and spit out food or the fry.

so,finally today the eggs hatch into cute little wiggies and as i suppose they will be free swimming in 3 days as my jewel fries did,is it so and in how many weeks will they colour up i.e. in how many days can i differ between pink and regular convicts (i do need pink cons as breeder but sadly don't have any) and is there any chance of mine getting a few pinks from both being regular ones and lastly will they survive at 20 Degrees if i do not put a heater in there.
