now i have been debating in my head that a tank thats cycled is when it has been oxygenated and water treated for a couple of weeks already and all the chem. levels are as what it is.but i have noticed on my tank and water that it has been crystal clear and when i see clear it is like looking through a clear glass witjout spots.now i have had an aquarium before in the PI and was not really in to specifics of the parameters of the water and how many times you changed the water.now that i know a little bit.i just want to clarify some stuff.
so the question is..1)is this a well cycled tank?
2)how long can you keep the same filter media?(mine
has been there since a bought it 3 mos ago)
3)connecton to the filter, you can rinse it off and re- use right?meaning not completely rinse it but some.
4)how long can an arowana 2x stay in a 75g tank. i've them for three months now.
(i know im upgrading it soon.kid's go first but i'll get there).

1)is this a well cycled tank? The clarity and everything may be deceiving, but the only way to really tell is test the water itself.
2)how long can you keep the same filter media?(mine
has been there since a bought it 3 mos ago) Depends on the type of media it is I guess. IE if its like the polyester stuff I will maybe replace it every 3-4 months? For other media such in my case like bio-max rings, I will never replace as most media can just be washed/cleaned with your tank water and reused.
3)connecton to the filter, you can rinse it off and re- use right?meaning not completely rinse it but some. Yes, better to clean a filter/canister one at a time and not all at once. And only wash/clean with tank water!
4)how long can an arowana 2x stay in a 75g tank. i've them for three months now. IMO until they are around 14"-17" then I will upgrade them into a 180 or their home for life which in most case would be a 8x3x2. But it also depends on what type of arowana.

Silver/blacks/African-8x3x2
Lei/Jar/Asian-6 or 7x2x2

THESE ANSWERS ARE MY OWN OPINIONS! SO NOT ALL WILL AGREE WITH ME.

Yeah, I'll give them another 5-6 months and you should start thinking about upgrading soon! Better to do it now then later...trust me I know and I think everyone can relate to this in someway.

i have one more question..whats the difference with the hikari food pellets for the aro and the pellets for the carp?and can we feed the carp pellets to the aro?..

Do you have an ammonia source within the tank? Are the arowna currently in this tank, if so they would be the ammonia source.

Nope, silvers need a tank atleast 3' front to back
