ok so i have never had a planted tank but think they are beautiful.. so when you have a heavily planted tank with fish in it how do you vacuum out the fish waist? or do you not have to because of the plants? i guess just how do you care for a planted tank?

You do water changes, but no gravel vac. The plants should uptake the nutrients.

Thing with planted tanks though, is that you need a balance between fish waste, plant mass, lighting, carbon, and additional nutrients.

Got any questions in particular? I'd like to say I know a fair amount on the topic.
