a few ram questions

hi all

going to venture into breeding these guys but ive heard some conflicting things so i just wanted a bit of clearing up on a couple of issues;

1) substrate spawners or egg dipositers? ive read i should give them a flat surface to breed but ive also read that they'll dig a pit in the substrate and put the eggs in that?

2) do rams offer any broodcare or am i best removing the eggs from the parants and raising them myself?

with regards to the breeding set up i was thinking of giving the parants a 10 all decorated nice with sand a few plants and a peice of slate is this the best way to go?

The will lay eggs and you can leave them in with mom and dad, they are good parents. Personally I would go with a bit of a bigger tank.

also does anybody know how long the fry take to grow? to an inch or so?

wicked thanks for the reply, so leave em in with mum and dad until how old? thats ok ive got a 20 knocking about i can use if thats better?

Probably a month.

The 20 gallon would be perfect, gives them more room.

does anybody know if these are easier or harder to raise than angel fish fry? im just wondering because i am considering breeding angel fish instead and im torn between then two.
