That's exactly why I went after those fish because of other people's posts. It's taken me time to get some of my "holy grail" fish. Now I need to find some adult Cubans and black nasty's!

It's funny how aesthetic preference can evolve. I used to drool over female festae and considered the males to be ugly. Now I find myself drawn to the big mature male look. Something about the sheer size, shape and proportions make it a visually stunning animal. I do still drool over the females though.

Something about the sheer size, shape and proportions make it a visually stunning animal. I do still drool over the females though.
I'm with you. When they aren't in "breeding mode" the female is better looking. But when they are breeding it raising fry, the males are amazing.
