ok i have my 75 with:
1 female jack dempsey
4 firemouths
8 pink convicts ( downstocking soon )
2 black convicts ( grew since they hatched )
3 dalmation mollys
2 silver mollys
1 common pleco

i KNOW im overstocked and the biggest fish is my firemouth at 3 almost 3.5 inches.

BUT now here comes the Q,

my aunt is moving out this summer * IM HOPING!!! and heard that she is ) and i get the 2 rooms that are connected upstaires and i get to have either a 20 or 30 gallon tank ( goin for 30 ) and was wondering if a pair of firemouths ( breeding pair ) can work in there? with like let say 6 swordtails ( cant go any higher then 30 gallons )

and now the Q for the 75,

can i house an oscar in there with a female JD 1 male pink convict 1 male black convict 1 male or female firemouth??? i want this tank to be a show tank for any guest that come over. tank is in the living room ( where i sleep as of right now ) so would that stock work??? i miss raising oscars, and can get a 10 inch one from a local mom and pop store
 
might be pushin it a lil but its your tank do what you want with it
 
thats why im asking all of you, i DONT know what i want to do. i want an oscar but then i want what i already have lol. so if this was YOUR tank what would you do to make it a show tank for guest?
 
are the guests ganna be people who know theyre stuff or are they just ganna be looking at the pretty colors?
 
looking at *pretty* colors. well if it were me i wouldnt care if there pretty or ugly i just like fish for themselfs but i want to make this tank *pretty* for the guest we get
 
then go ahead they arnt ganna start harrasing you about over stocking the tank if they dont know squat diddly
 
well i may do:

1 oscar
1 female firemouth ( spare female incase my male doesnt like my female in the 20 )
1 female jack D
1 female pink con
1 female black con/ 1 male black con ( will make sure they dont breed )

20-30 gallon upstiares i will have:

1 pair of firemouths
6 sowrdtails ( 1 male 5 females )

the 20 or 30 gallon ( dependong on how much money i have to baable to afford a 20 or 30 ) will be my feeder tank for my main tank, so how does that sound?
 
thats ganna be crowded when they get big
 
Id say go with the oscar, jd, and firemouth
