State of chaos
soo i went to 2 lfs today and saw some really nice fish! the first 2 i need care info on, the last 2 are for you guys cuz i think youll get a kick out of them.
Farrowella Catfish! these guys are like plecos stretched between 2 vice grips! will a 30g be ok and what else do i need to know?
hillstream loach! these guys are the old lfs favorite for their resemblance to Rays. but what will they eat? tank size? anything else i should know?
these are sw!
Black Seabass! native grouper, about 8'' long in a 70g in a brooklyn lfs. sitting sideways under a rock in a crevice but these guys naturally do this. im guessing it was caught by one of the employees, as this was the first ive ever seen and he was $70. i would say its in the top 10 as "Most MFK Fish!!" :headbang2
Crocodile Flathead! labeled as an "Alligator Flounder."

no pixes???
and btw i have had a hard time finding healthy farlowellas :screwy:

Call fish and game on them please. Legal size to keep them in NY is 12", either the same or 11" in Jersey. I'm fairly certain that Connecticut's size limit is similar...

Please take pics. Many species share the same name "farlowella catfish". If these are Sturisoma panamense, Rineloricaria parva, Farlowella acus or the L010a, then tank size is not a problem. What are the fish in it?

SW? Hillstream loaches are not saltwater. There are some sticky threads in Loaches forum you should check out.

I agree. This thread is just worthless without pics.;)

Dev, perhaps try Frank's Aquarium or Aquabid?

Oh, sorry about the post flow.:p

Are these Sturisoma panamense or Farlowella gracilis? Either way, they'll be fine in a 30g.

farlowella cats are a nice addition to a peaceful setup, very elegant, yet delicate fish

Farlowellas will need many driftwood they are true woodeaters hehe. But they willl grow to about 20cm so a 30 gallon tank would be great. The others I dont know
