Seeing your first ever fish apparently die right before you.

The next 48 hours were very stressful, but he lived.

glad he lived, what was the cause?

I'm happy it wasn't the marble one.

I netted him out to examine a case of apparent fin rot, but the fins have not decreased in size or rotted too much. It was probably just some severe bits from the convicts.

Anyway, his dorsal and anal spines were caught in the net and I carefully pryed him loose. Just as I did he fell to the wooden floors from 3.5ft in the air. Tossed him in the tank and he just had no control over his fins except the pectorals and he had a possible damaged swim bladder. Slowly but surely he came to. Everything healed nicely without the need for a temp increase, salt, meds etc.

My silver aro died right in front of me. I know what you were going through' I never want to experience that again.

The whole time I just had that feeling when your stomach drops. I showed my sister and she just went "Meh". She'll need good luck if she is ever to find that $10 note she left laying around.
