i was gonna post a pic of the problem but you cant see it in any photo i take. Also was gonna snap a pic for sex, but with the 20 or so M or F threads, I am pretty sure she is a she. OK, I have noticed this forever but really didnt care as she is fine and normal and tank is cycle etc..... My jag has a pinkinsh/lite red tint to her, I was thinking it was my led, but once in a while she just swims fast and i notice it. I hear all these jag crosses and somthing called a mangunese. Is this just me or does others have it aswell. again I CANT get it on a pic.

Lol post a pic for the sex, I love answering those. Almost all jags have a red/pink sheen to them depending on how the light hits them.

A Jaguar cichlid is the same thing as Parachromis managuensis, or managuense cichlid. Managuense is just the scientific name. Post a pic please, these are my favorite fish and I love looking at new ones

Post a pic anyway ....a pic is worth a thousand words as the saying goes....
Males have that tint to them....maybe you do have a male. My male is about 3 different shades depending on where he is in the tank ,how the lighting hits him and his mood....
The scientific name for the jaguar cichlid or jag as we all call them is Parachromis managuensis or as people say for short.. managuense..managuense and jag is the same fish....
This pic might be what you are talking about....

oh wow yes, I cant seem to get a pinkish tint in my pics, I have no new ones, but let me find an old

damn guess my seeing 2o threads was wrong, he/she? has colored up alot more, that pic was the day i let IT in its tank, hmm, well i hope he does in a 100 for a while it a 5ft tank and really wide, maybe more than a 100

he has grown an inch or 2. eats like a champ. I know the leingh is 5ft and Width is 18, I can give them when i go down and feed. he is sharing a tank with royal pleco

Not too bad, sounds like a 100 gal to me, 100 gal dimensions are 5ft length, 18" wide and 20" tall i believe. Have fun with him! and be careful lol, jags are good at killing things overnight.
