I am extremely interested in the Giant Gourami. I've been doing some research on them but I can't seem to find prices. I know that because of the tank size needed to house them, a lot of the local petstores don't/won't carry them. Because of this I am wondering how much a full grown Giant Gourami would cost. How about a smaller size one? Any information would be greatly appreciated as I am hoping to have one in the near future. Thanks!

My local LFS has a full grown giant osphronemus (sp?) gourami for $75. Not sure if this price is reasonable as I have almost no basis for comparison, but that's what they're charging for it.

i've had a giant gourami before, i bought a small one like 5" for $6, and in a matter of 6 months it grew to 14". it eats everything, and i mean everything edible i toss in its tank.

around here prettymuch every lfs has one or two sitting in some tank.. ask the price on it once and you will get told $50... ask a few weeks/months later if they want you to "get that fish out of your store" and they will usuially give it to you... true usuially the day before you go back and offer to take it some idiot paid the $50 for it though

Mean bastards. Nice to mix with a Jar. But beat the **** out of my frt.

I've been to like 5 or so local pet stores that had a HUGE selection of fish, but none of them had the giants. One place said they can order them for me, but couldn't give me a price without asking their supplier. Are there any websites that sell them? I can't find any. I was thinking that they would be like $100-$200, so I am excited about $50.

usually around $30 here with mark-ups for 3-4inchers, although it costs only about $6-$8 to order them into the store. this is for the gold colored ones. guess it depends what type you're after and what size

the one in my pond was about $5.. he was around 4" when purchased
