Does anyone know of a good pH Down, I have a pH Down by Seachem and it says it will lower pH to 5.0 but I'm not getting pass 6.2 and I need around 5.5. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,
Justin

Do a 100% water change. Stop using the ph down. If you want your fish to live, I suggest you stop.

None. They do more harm than good.

there are realy no ph downs that work that effective at all i have herd that you can use peat moss to filter the water down so it becomes lower here is an article that i found on it http://naturalaquariums.com/bb/index.php?topic=496.0 be careful though somtimes it work to well making water realy acidiey try just using it on an empty tank first without any fish just in case it causes problems. better to be safe than sorrey

Alright, I've only treated twice and it's been a week and everyone is fine and eating but I will stop and do a 50% water change. If pH down isn't a option then how will I lower my pH so low?

Thanks, I'll do some more research on that.

Wish I had the space and the money.

That's really the only safe and effective way to soften your water and lower your PH. You strip all the minerals out so you start with the purest water possible, then you add back the essential minerals to maintain the hardness and buffering capacity you need for the fish you keep. All these bottled products consists of acids and buffers that keep your water parameters going up and down all day. It's a dangerous game to play.
