I was all over town today shopping for fish, I went to a ton of shops, saw some really cool stuff, and I had some cash burning a hole in my pocket.

I had never seen an adult Red Terror or Green Terror in person before, only the little drab babies at Petsmart. Today I saw two 6-7 inch Red Terrors and a 6 inch Green Terror at one place and was amazed by the colors... looked nothing like the babies I had seen. I was gonna fork out for one of the grown ones, but I decided to go to Petsmart and save some money and just grow out little guys. I bought a one GT and one RT, each was about $6 for a 1.5" fish. They look so much better now that they are in my 55gal with my polypterus, much more color. I'm excited to watch 'em grow.

Another fish that caught my eye today was the Electric Blue Jack Dempsey. I saw quite a few places have them, ranging from $29.99 to $49.99. I was wondering if I got one of these would it end up getting beat down by the GT and the RT? I hate when I buy a $30-40 feeder fish.

the e.b. woulod have no chance with those fish, and to be entirely honest with you, you'll probaly end up losing the gt at some point in the future. RT can get very aggressive.

Our EBJD's get beat up by their own reflection :) from what I have seen from ours is that they are really wimpy in fact I wish we didn't have them anymore. Don't RTs get really big as well as aggresive ?

either way you will need a larger tank for them.. only one you could keep in a 55 by its self would be a EBJD.... You will also probably loose one or two of the fish to either the GT or RT

RT will pwn that tank..

It's funny how everyone thinks the RT will dominate the tank, cause right now he's hiding behind the filter! Meanwhile, the GT has been all up in the face of my ornate polypterus. I was worried he was gonna get chomped, but he's quick. The GT isn't hiding at all, you can look at him real close. I like the orange on his fins. The RT is nice and bright when he swims out under the light. I'm a poet and don't even know it.

i had my EBJD fight with a GT in a 75 gallon so i say theres no way they'll go exist in a 55......and if it is a red terror in that tank its gonna own everything pretty soon.........
